West Tyrone Sinn Féin Councillor Glenn Campbell has said uncertainty about the future of St. Matthew's Primary School in Garvaghey has angered local parents who feel they have, thus far, not been properly consulted or engaged with by the CCMS.

Speaking following a meting with concerned parents, Cllr Campbell said,

"I want to, on behalf of parents at St. Matthew's Primary School, convey disappointment in relation to how CCMS have handled this matter to date. Parents are annoyed and angered that many of the questions they raised at an initial meeting with CCMS have not been answered.

Continuing, Cllr Campbell said,

"It is unacceptable that these parents are very much being left in the dark in relation to the future of St. Matthew's Primary School and the future of Primary education in their Parish. The local community in Garvaghey are proud of their school. They are proud of the excellent teachers and pupils and they are determined that their voice will be both heard and listened to."

Concluding, Cllr Campbell said, "I am calling on CCMS to both extend the deadline for responding to his proposal and to properly engage with the local community via a public meeting."
