West Tyrone Declan Mc Aleer has welcomed confirmation that the Strule Education campus will open its doors to pupils in September 2020.
Mr Mc Aleer said "Along with Ross Hussey MLA, I met John Smith, Director of the campus on Tuesday.
"At the meeting, Mr Smith said that the Arvalee school was 90% completed and will open this September for the first intake of pupils on the campus site. Procurement for the remainder of the campus will begin in the Autumn and, given the scale of the project it will be advertised in the European journal.
"Mr Smith also said that they are considering traffic issues and that specialist engineers are currently working on traffic modelling exercises.
Mr Mc Aleer concluded "This is another good news story for Omagh. The educational campus, along with the development of the vacated school sites, offers a once in a lifetime opportunity for our young people.
"The social, economic and pedagogic benefits of this project are wide ranging and the campus has the support of all sections of the community".
