West Tyrone MLA Declan Mc Aleer has welcomed confirmation from TransportNI that it intends to carry out maintenance work on the Rylagh Road. Mr Mc Aleer said "Members of the local community have invested a lot of time and energy restoring the old Limekiln and keeping the road free of debris and in a good state for motorists. This has included a significant amount of drainage in the vicinity of the Limekiln to prevent run off on to the road. "However, a section of open drain has been damaged by passing traffic and is in need of maintenance. I welcome the fact that TransportNI recognise this and has instructed work to be completed here within the next eight weeks. "Whilst this is a short term measure, a more permanent solution would be the piping of this section of open drain and I will continue to press TransportNI to undertake this work".
