McHugh calls for speed ramps in Lismore Grove/ Park, Sion Mills

Sinn Féin councillor Maoliosa McHugh has called for speed ramps to be installed in Lismore Gardens and park following concerns raised by a number of residents over cars speeding through the park.

Speaking this week Cllr McHugh said,

"A number of concerns were raised with be by residents living in this area that cars are speeding through the park on an on-going basis.

"A high number of children live in this area and people believe it will only be a matter of time before someone is seriously injured or killed by a speeding car coming through the parks.

"I have raised the issue with roads service who have arranged for a traffic counter to be put in to monitor the volume of traffic and speeding through the area. This will determine whether they feel ramps are needed.

"This is an issue which must be resolved sooner rather than later. I will keep the pressure on roads service to ensure a resolution is reached promptly."
