Sinn Féin Mid Tyrone councillor, Barry McNally has called upon local community groups to apply for Grant Aid Support, which opens to applications this week and is provided by Fermanagh and Omagh Council.

Applications can be made by constituted community and voluntary groups under the themes of Arts, Culture and Heritage, Festivals & Events, Community Services, Good Relations, Community Relations Week, Seeding Grants, Sports Development and Recreation, Summer Schemes and Sports Events.

Speaking on the issue councillor McNally urged local community groups to avail of the grant aid:

"I would call upon local community groups to apply for the grant aid available from the Council. It is a very challenging time financially for many groups across the district. We as a council recognise the great work done by many of these groups and organisations and have ensured that we will continue supporting this work. Grant aid support is one small measure of our commitment to supporting local communities by providing the resources for the many projects which will be delivered throughout the area.

Application forms can be downloaded on the council website at http://www.fermanaghomagh.com/and must be completed and returned by 5pm onFriday 8 May. A number of information sessions have been organised for groups wishing to avail of funding and these will be advertised in the local press.
