Speaking today Ms Boyle said,

"I welcome this significant investment announcement for Strabane.

"This scheme will make up part of the footway and cycleway network linking the town centre with the Ballycolman and Melmount Road.

"The improvements will complement the works carried out on the Melmount Road and Bridge Street and the new footbridge between Townsend Street and the Ballycolman.

"Cycling offers major social, health and economic benefits for our society. Not only is cycling a healthy option but it is also environmentally friendly and is a cost effective way of transport and there is a need to promote it.
