"The Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition held in the RDS in Dublin over recent days is a hugely respected competition which attracted students from across Ireland.

"It provides our young people with an excellent opportunity to showcase their talents to a national audience and to exchange ideas with their peers.

"This year St Ciarans in Ballygawley qualified for the prestigious event in Dublin and I congratulate them on their remarkable achievement.

"The students are a credit to their schools, their families and the county.

"It once again showcases the huge wealth of talent we have in Tyrone, particularly in the all-important STEM subjects of science, technology, engineering and maths.

"These young people will go on to be experts in their fields in the years ahead and will continue to be great ambassadors."
