McHugh calls for street lighting issue in Clady to be addressed urgently

Published: 12 December, 2014

Sinn Féin Councillor Maolíosa McHugh said that ongoing problems with street lighting in Clady need to be addressed as a matter of urgency.

Cllr McHugh said,

"I have received a number of complaints regarding a number of lamp posts in the Crescent that are out of order.

"Many local residents are concerned about the lack of lighting, especially given that there were homes burgled last year in this exact area and given the recent spate of burglaries in Clady and throughout the district.

"I have been in contact with Roads Service Lighting Section in an effort to have this issue addressed. This just isn't good enough- the situation is getting out of hand. With over 1600 light bulbs stock piled in the Western division its time the minister stopped making excuses and addressed the issue urgently."
