Huge potential in all-Ireland student mobility- Boyle

Sinn Féin MLA Michaela Boyle has said that more must be done to realise the huge potential in all-Ireland student mobility.

Speaking this week Ms Boyle said,

"In the years since the Good Friday Agreement there has been an acceptance that student mobility throughout the island of Ireland is not what it should be.

"Issues with qualification equivalency, unfamiliarity with the application processes and institutional inflexibility has resulted in far too few students exploring study options throughout Ireland.

"I was pleased to hear that at a meeting of the North South Parliamentary association this week all political voices were speaking in unison regarding the need to break down these barriers and seek ways to encourage greater student mobility.

"As we look to build a strong and equitable all Ireland economy it will be vital that our young people have maximum access to educational development across the island."
