Castlefinn Park works welcomed - Councillor Ruairí Mc Hugh
Published: 24 March, 2014
Derg Sinn féin Councillor Ruairí Mc Hugh has welcomed the beginning of work by D.O.E. Roads Service in the Castlefinn Park estate in Castlederg, he said
'' Through liaison meetings with DOE Roads service officials I have lobbied on behalf of Castlefinn Park residents on issues that they have brought to my attention Some of these issues I have been lobbying Roads Service on now for quite some time and include the dangerous nature of the uneven flagged footpaths which have resulted in people tripping and injuring themselves and the unsightly state of the road surface throughout the estate.
' I am reliably told by Road Service officials that the work that has commenced recently is only the first part of a three phase project which when fully completed will see newly tarred footpaths, re-location of bollards as well as surface dressing of the road ways within the estate. I also intend continuing to lobby for the other phases of works to be undertaken sooner rather than later.
' It is good to see D.O.E. Roads Service as a statutory body taking on the concerns and needs of residents of this community and I would like to commend and thank them for their co-operation with myself on these issues.''
