West Tyrone MLA Declan Mc Aleer has praised the pupils and staff of Omagh Integrated Primary School for their creative efforts in marking Integrated Education week. Mr Mc Aleer was speaking after paying a visit to the school where he met staff and pupils. According to the Omagh-based MLA 'I was delighted to attend the 'Building Bridges Big Breakfast' in Omagh Integrated Primary School to mark Integrated Education week. 'The concept of creating model bridges as a symbol for connecting and uniting people was very imaginative and I was extremely impressed with the high standard of the finished products. Mr Mc Aleer continued 'There were bridges made from all sorts of material such as lego and old newspapers. One structure was made entirely from marshmallows and chocolate fingers. It was evident that hundreds of hours were invested meticulously creating these fine pieces of work. 'The actual construction process encouraged the children and their parents/guardians to work together as a team. This spirit of co-operation and feeling part of a wider family permeates throughout the school. It provides valuable lessons for wider society about how we should lead our lives'.
