Dumping of dead sheep beside residential area highly irresponsible-Mc Cauley

Published: 17 February, 2014

Strabane Sinn Féin Cllr Jay Mc Cauley has described the dumping of a dead sheep at the burn walk adjacent to homes in Drumrallagh Estate in the town as highly irresponsible and is asking agriculture officials to investigate.

He said,

"Given the location of the dead sheep at the top of the burn walk, it has obviously been dumped from a vehicle on the Spout Road just above. Given that that there was no outward signs of decay, the dead animal seems to have been just dumped within the last few days.

This is a highly irresponsible act and instead paying the small cost to ensure the safe disposal of this animal in the appropriate manner, the person responsible has been prepared to expose residents living in the adjoining residential area to a potential serious health hazard.

I have been making efforts to ensure that Agriculture officials investigate the source of this serious dumping incident and to have the dead animal disposed of in the appropriate manner."
