Light at the end of the tunnel over Garag Hill adoption-Mc Hugh

Published: 18 November, 2013

Derg Sinn Féin Councillor Ruairí Mc Hugh says that lobbying efforts to have the Garag Hill residential development in the town adopted have taken a major step forward after receiving both e-mail and verbal guarantees from Roads Service that work to bring the development up to the required standard will be undertaken before the end of the financial year 2013-2014.

He said,

"The process to have Garag Hill adopted has been badly set back after the developer went bust. I have been lobbying Road's Service on behalf of residents to have the outstanding issues standing in the way of final adoption addressed. These efforts have now taken a major step forward having now received both e-mail and verbal guarantees from Roads Service that the necessary works to bring the development up to the required standard will be undertaken before the end of the financial year 2013-2014.

"This news will be greeted with great relief by local residents as its represents a light at the end of the tunnel particularly in relation to the continuous problems with street lighting not to mention the weekly ordeal of having to take their bins to the entrance of the estate.
