Sinn Féin MLA's Michaela Boyle and Declan McAleer have congratulated the Devine family in bringing their campaign for a vaccine for meningitis to Stormont.

After meeting with the family in Stormont West Tyrone MLA's Michaela Boyle and Declan Mc Aleer said,

"At the tender age of 16, Terri Devine lost her life to the disease Group B meningococcal septicemia (Meningitis B) on 21st December 2008. Today, Terri's family came to Stormont with a strong petition of over 22,000 signatures to Campaign for the Meningitis B vaccine to be made available in the north.

"We would like to congratulate the Devine family in the success of their campaign 'Time for Terri'. So far they have done tremendous work in highlighting the symptoms associated with the illness.

"The Devine family knows better than anyone how important it is that our children are protected against all types of meningitis and septicemia. We want to congratulate them on highlighting their campaign in both Stormont and Westminster and we hope action is taken as soon as possible to introduce 'Bexsero'.

"With the introduction of a vaccine many lives would be saved and many families would be saved from the torment that the Devine family have gone through."
