Mc Hugh welcomes swift action by Road's Service to repair substantial pothole outside Castlederg school

Published: 20 February, 2013

In recent weeks a fairly substantial pothole had developed outside of St Patrick's Primary School in Castlederg. Local Sinn Féin Cllr Ruairí Mc Hugh contacted Road's service to have it repaired as a matter of urgency.

Cllr Mc Hugh said,

"As soon as it was brought to my attention by a number of parents that this pothole was causing driving problems when they were leaving their children to and picking them up from school I immediately contacted Road's Service to have it repaired.
"The issue here is that this pothole was causing some drivers to divert their attention away from the road and instead they were concentrating on missing the pothole for fear of damaging their vehicles - this in turn was presenting a Health and Safety hazard for the children and other vehicle users in the area

"I am now glad to say that Roads Service acted swiftly upon my representations and this section of road is now repaired"
