The success of Strathroy Harps was recognised by Omagh Council when the team was hosted at a reception in the Council offices on Friday evening. Chairman of Strathroy Community Association and Omagh Sinn Féin public representative Marty McColgan was in attendance, alongside party colleagues Sorcha McAnespy, Glenn Campbell and Assembly Member Barry McElduff. Speaking following the reception Mr McColgan said he was glad that the achievements of the team were recognised: "I'm delighted that Strathroy Harps Irish Junior cup victory was recognised by the local Council. It is a major achievement for Strathroy and indeed Omagh as a whole, as they are the first Omagh based team to win the coveted title. "Having lived in Strathroy for 38 years, and having been involved in the Strathroy Community Association for 25 years there have been many achievements and accolades but certainly being part of the large crowd of travelling supporters standing in Moyola park Castledawson following Strathroy Harps victory was a very proud moment indeed. "Winning the Irish Junior Cup is an amazing accomplishment and is a credit to the effort of all those involved with the team, including all the players, the management and all those who helped Strathroy Harps become the successful club they are.
