Welcome as council assists in Trillick works ahead of Fleadh

The hills of Trillick will come alive to the sound of music next weekend as the Tyrone fleadh kicks off on in the town on Fri 22nd June. Local Sinn Féin councillor Peter Kelly said the event will be great boost for the village and has proved to be very popular in the area over previous years when the village hosted the Tyrone fleadh.

The Tyrone fleadh attracts crowds from throughout the county and will see performers progress to the All Ireland Fleadh in Cavan in August.

Speaking ahead of the event vice chairman of the Council Peter Kelly said:

"In preparation for the event I have secured a commitment from the Council to assist in making the village ready for the occasion. I have secured the erection of hanging baskets, a street cleaning program as well as more bin provision in the Trillick area ahead of the event.

"As well as bringing alive the streets of Trillick with song and dance the event will also be a great boost economically for the town and will draw in great crowds from throughout county Tyrone to the area over the weekend.
