Drumlister Road in poor condition.

Published: 12 March, 2012

Sinn Féin councillor Sean Donnelly has called upon Roads Service to carry out essential road works on the Drumlister road, between Carrickmore and Sixmilecross. The local councillor said he has been contacted by local residents about the poor state of the road.

Speaking after alerting Roads Service to his concerns councillor Donnelly said:

"The road has completely subsided on sections of the road as well as large potholes which have developed over the past number of months. There are quite a number of residential homes on this road as well as businesses and local farmers also depend on the road on a daily basis. Whilst it would be considered as a minor road, nevertheless it still has a considerable daily volume of traffic. The poor road condition is an obvious concern to local people who live on the road, and they have outlined these issues to me in recent days.

"I have informed the Roads Service of my concern regarding this road and have asked them to carry out the necessary work to bring this road back up to an adequate standard to the satisfaction of the local residents and users of this road.CRÍOCH
