Líofa 2015 Irish Language Campaign to be launched in Omagh

DCAL Minister Carál Ní Chuilín will join Omagh District Council Chairperson Frankie Donnelly for the local launch of the Líofa 2015 campaign. The event will take place in Omagh District Council Offices at 7pm on Wednesday 29th February.

Cllr Frankie Donnelly said,

"The Department of Culture Arts and Leisure launched the Líofa (fluent) initiative last September with an aim of encouraging at least 1000 people from all across the north to sign up to becoming fluent in Irish by 2015."

"The target has been reached and more, with over 1500 people having already taken up the challenge, demonstrating a thriving and active interest in the Irish language. We would encourage people to sign up to Líofa online at:
