Station Centre a hub of the Community - McAnespy

Published: 6 July, 2011

Sinn Fein Omagh Town councillor Sorcha McAnespy has described Omagh Station centre as a hub of the community. She was speaking following a visit to the centre earlier this week when Sinn Féin Education minister John O'Dowd visited the centre on Wednesday.

Speaking following her visit to the facility councillor McAnespy said:

"The station centre is a hub of the community and provides important and vital facilities for our young people and indeed all the people of the local community. Having a mix of educations and social activities in a safe environment can hugely benefit all of the people involved in the club.

"The role of youth clubs plays a hugely important role in personal development and education; this is evident in the case of Omagh Youth Club and Omagh Boys and Girls Club. It is clear that these facilities in Omagh are well ultised for community benefit, and this can only be a good thing for the health and wellbeing of all of those involved.
