Crime Awareness Day due to be held in Carrickmore

Published: 21 June, 2011

Sinn Féin councillor Anne Marie Fitzgerald has urged members of the mid Tyrone community to benefit from a Crime awareness day to be Held in Carrickmore Milestone Centre on Thursday 23rd June. Amongst the information stalls present there will be a free trailer marking scheme. This is a visible marking scheme to deter theft of trailers in rural areas.

Explaining the event Anne Marie Fitzgerald said:

"There will also be various worships and agencies present on the day with information stands. These groups include help with benefits such as the warm homes rate reductions, help in terms of preventing crime as well as groups such as Rural support, the Niamh Louise Foundation and the Ethnic Support Group.

"The trailer marking scheme will be of use to many rural farmers in the local area and given that it is free of charge it is an apt incentive to take part in the initiative. I would urge the local mid Tyrone community to attend this event. It will be held at the Milestone Centre in Carrickmore from 2pm until 6pm on Thursday 23rd June.
